A Szarvasi Arborétum, mint önálló szervezeti egység 2000. január 1. óta Karunkhoz tartozik. A Szarvasi Arborétum a Körösök völgyében fekszik, részben Szarvas város, részben Békésszentandrás község közigazgatási területén. Az Arborétum ma öt fás gyűjteményt (Pepi-kert, Konyhakert, Fenyő-törzsültetvény, Parkerdő, Génbank) gondoz összesen 82 ha területen. A Kar feladata döntően a védettségi szempontok megfelelő szakmai felügyelet, az ezzel összhangban lévő fenntartás és a megőrző-fejlesztés biztosítása.
